Originally licensed in 1972 with the novice call sign WN6SWJ . I started with a Drake 2B/2BQ, a vertical, and a single tube home brew CW transmitter which was assembled on a plank of wood and put out 10-25 watts. After a 30+ year hiatus from amateur radio I upgraded to Extra in October 2012 and obtained my current call sign in January of 2013.

I enjoy sending and receiving QSL cards, DXing and learning as much as my rusty brain will absorb about the many aspects of this hobbie. I have become a board member of the local club and attend as many events as my health allows.

Currently using a Kenwood TS-590 and a hexbeam at 45 feet (13.7 meters). A 400 foot loop is in the works. The QTH is located in the Sierra foothills above a valley at an elevation of about 2200 ft (~670 meters).
